iBeaute Therapy owner and therapist, Corne Mouton, has some delightful gift ideas to bring some Christmas joy.
Wow, we have had a busy year. From March to November, we have paid our knitters over R150 000 and donated over 3 000 bears to various organisations in need. In November alone, our knitters have been working incredibly hard as we have had requests for over 800 bears in the lead up to Christmas.
We have also had an exciting new project producing bears made to order as the official gift for the 2019 Matric Leavers of St Anne's Diocesan College. We are thrilled to have been given this opportunity by the St Anne's Old Girls Guild!
More great news is The Care Bear Project has been sponsored as an official member of the Midlands Meander, and for the first time, our bears are now available at the shop at the Mandela Capture Site in Howick.
We could not achieve any of this without our sponsors, and in this regard we would like to thank all our donors, and very specifically the following companies and individuals who make regular monthly donations, without whom our project would not be possible:-
N3TC Changing Lives Campaign
Hard Asset Trust
Ndaka Safari Lodge
Zylem CC
Umhlanga Holiday Rentals
Moore Roadlife (Litres for Education Program)
Booking.Com
Monique and Phil Bowmaker
Brigid and Nils Lutz

9pm Josh Devine & Tiaan Meyer
Josh Devine and Tiaan Meyer are a two-piece based in Durban, KZN. Having met at music college, they have combined their skills to create a setlist taking people from the 50’s with the likes of Frank Sinatra right through to contemporary tracks. Blues with Eric Clapton, reggae with Peter Tosh, and some Pink Floyd numbers to name a few! They look forward to making their way up to the cozy Howick to spend time with music and friends.
8pm Bridgitt Leahy
Bridgitt is a 22 year old acoustic indie artist. She grew up in a small town called Creighton where she was surrounded by her dad's music and his singing. This inspired her to pick up a guitar at 15 years old and play the same two chords to Sugar man by Rodriquez. Bridgitt's interest for music quickly grew into her greatest love. Today she writes her own songs and performs a mixture of covers and originals; she hopes to be releasing an alternative/ indie EP album within the next few months.
7pm The Reid Family
The Reid Family Band has been years in the making, jamming together since the kids were small. Vincent Reid has had an interest in music from a young age and is mainly self-taught. He plays keyboard, guitar and recently tin whistle. Rhiannon is just finishing matric and with the help of Kech Sanchez, she has honed her skills on guitar and sings lead vocals. Younger borther Aidan showed musical abilities from a the time he was knee-high and also sings. Tess organises the bookings and joins in on vocals and percussion, when possible. The Reid Family Band enjoys many different genres of music but are particularly influenced by Irish, Folk and Pop music.
