Undivided Roots ZA is a roots, rock, and reggae band for any occasion. Founded by the legendary Nstangu Cele, who is known as “Roots”, an independent street musician from Edendale, Pietermaritzburg. The band consists of 7 members: Black Wadada on guitar, Revival Cele on bass, Heaven Cele on drums, Spear Cele on keyboards, Kingdom Cele on second keyboards, Rainbow Cele on percussion, and Judgement Cele on lead guitar.
The members are all brothers and sisters who make a living from music, by busking locally and outside of Pietermaritzburg. Undivided Roots has shared the stage with many gifted musicians, including Johnny Clegg, Gangs of Ballet, Prime Circle, Queen Ifrica, Watershed, Zahara, and Tony Rebel. Their repertoire includes old-school rock, blues, and jazz, with a heavy dose of roots reggae guaranteed to get your feet tapping.
7:40pm: Acoustic Jukebox
Acoustic Jukebox is a duo of midlands locals, Mark White (keys and vocals) and Maryke Jonsson (vocals), performing covers of songs from various genres, including R&B, folk, pop and rock. Maryke and Mark share a passion for music and each have their own extensive list of stage performances.
Their collective style could be described as eclectic, due to the varied genres they cover (hence the reference to 'Jukebox') and they'll be performing hits by, amongst others, Otis Redding, Sia, Billy Joel, and Pat Benator.
7pm: Jes Bedingfield
Jes Bedingfield is a multi-talented creative with over 15 years of musical experience, performing in more than 10 bands as a bassist and ukulelist. Now branching out as a solo artist, Jes brings both the guitar and ukulele, together with her vocals to centre stage. Her distinctive husky voice blends effortlessly with the warm tones of her instruments, creating a sound that’s both soulful and captivating.
In her performances, Jes showcases an eclectic mix of covers, ranging from obscure gems to timeless classics that will have you singing along or reminiscing about "the good times." Whether she's breathing new life into a forgotten tune or delivering a well-loved hit, her sets promise to be a blend of unexpected surprises and nostalgic favorites.
Jes "Dylan" Bedingfield's live performances exude acoustic charm, offering a soulful, laid-back vibe. With covers of Dire Straits, Eddie Vedder, The Killers, and more, her setlist brings together past and present melodies in perfect harmony.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: MiTH takes place every second Wednesday at The Knoll Historic Guest Farm, Knoll Drive, Hilton. Doors open at 6pm and the music will kick off at 7pm. Entrance is R50 at the door. Food and soft drinks are available for sale. A cash bar is available.
DIRECTIONS TO MiTH: Take the N3 to Hilton, take the Hilton turnoff and go South into the Village (away from Hilton College). Travel 5,2km along Hilton Avenue (past two sets of traffic lights and Crossways Pub) and keep going straight as Hilton Avenue turns into Dennis Shepstone Drive. At the 5,2km mark, Knoll Drive will be on your right – the entrance to MiTH is the *second* entrance on your left into The Knoll Historic Guest Farm.

On 19 September 2024, the first-ever Husqvarna Schools Forest Rehabilitation Challenge in association with Ferncliffe forest wilding, took place in Pietermaritzburg. This exciting event saw learners from Durban High School and Weston Agricultural College competing in a tree-planting race, designed to restore local forests and foster environmental stewardship among our youth.
