Help us get her home!
Last Sunday evening uMngeni SPCA’s Emergency team responded to a call from a Hilton resident. They had investigated a strange noise at the backyard fence, which borders the old defunct Hilton dump site and near Panorama Road. In the bitter cold, they had discovered a dachshund-mix young dog trapped between the concrete slats and the mesh fence laced with razor wire. Trainee Field Officer Sandile Mbhense could not cut through the property’s fence, as the residents had dogs of their own. He painstakingly lured the petrified animal slowly along the fence line, to where it could be safely breached. He gently extracted her. Back at uMngeni SPCA’s Clinic, Dr Margie Roach checked her thoroughly and declared her healthy and unharmed. She is not microchipped and no-one has claimed her.
This little cutie is around one and a half years old, and surely being missed by someone. She is safe, warm and hoping to go home. Help us try and find her owners, who probably live in Hilton. Failing that she will be eligible for adoption from next Monday 17th August.
