This year, 74 players brought their A-game to the Hilton Tennis Club, competing in men’s and ladies’ doubles on Saturday and mixed doubles on Sunday. The atmosphere buzzed with friendly rivalry, spectacular rallies, and plenty of good-natured banter. Courtside, fans cheered and caught up with old friends, making the event feel like one happy family gathering.
A huge thank you to Hilton Quarry Spar, whose generous sponsorship kept everyone smiling—not only with hampers for winners and runners-up, but also with mouth-watering meals throughout the weekend. Saturday night’s highlight was a hearty beef curry dinner that had everyone coming back for seconds.
The Hilton Tennis Club community went all out too; Mark de Voest donated balls as prizes. Members donated bottles of wine, baked homemade cakes so between the thrilling matches and the feasting, no one left hungry—or thirsty!
Here are the results:
In keeping with tradition, the tournament wasn’t just about winning but about sportsmanship and camaraderie. This year, the Buwalda and Wessels Memorial Trophy for best sportsmanship went to Chris Kruger from Underberg—who acknowledged every good shot, a true gentleman on and off the court.
