Being a Cowan House boy or girl, the concept of Outdoor Learning is certainly not foreign, being blessed with an expansive and beautiful campus to enjoy. Today however, we took an "Action Day" as part of Outdoor Classroom Day and embraced the joy of learning outdoors.
Our Grade 7/Grade 1 mentor partnerships embarked on an exciting scavenger hunt around school, whilst our Grade 6s and Grade 5s headed off to Umngeni Valley and Doreen Clark Nature Reserve respectively. For other grades it was the excitement of Outdoor Art, Maths Games and corridor spelling quizzes.
Not to be outdone, our Cowan Cubs also embraced the fun of Outdoor Classroom Day. The Grade RRR children cruised into school to enjoy Bike Day, our Grade RRs tested their paper airplanes off the pavilion deck and our Grade Rs enjoyed a nature scavenger hunt within our Pre Primary - and a safari drive on the Cub Cruiser!
All in all, an incredibly busy day involving each child in our school and a reminder to not only enjoy the outdoors, but to fully appreciate the privilege of learning in such a beautiful space.
