This Spotted Eagle Owl fledgling was recently admitted to FreeMe Wildlife.Coming from Greytown, the fledgling needed to be relocated as it was in immediate danger.
The fledgling could not be relocated nearby for the parents to continue caring for it as the area was unsuitable. It still needs parental care as it is too young to fend for itself.
The decision was taken to admit the owl to FreeMe Wildlife. It will need only a few weeks of feeding for it to grow out its flight feathers so it can fly and hunt.
The decision to admit a healthy wild animal was not taken lightly, but considering the circumstances, there was no other option. Thankfully, the fledgling is in good health and will not spend much time at FreeMe Wildlife before being released back into the wild where it belongs.
