Recently St Anne's celebrated Youth Day with the STEPP Youth Day Fete.
This is a social enterprise to raise funds to make education accessible to South Africans. It is for the youth, by the youth, to the youth. The day embodies using education to generate funds through learning how to make money to do good.
This year the Grade 11s raised R29000.00 in the 3 hour fete day. All of the funds are used to continue our literacy partnerships we have with 7 schools.
These partnerships occur once a week during the term time and impact in an approximate 30% increase in English literacy from Grades 3 – 7.
The partnerships are with local schools in the Sweetwaters, Lions River, Nxamalala and Hhaza districts.
