Remembering Rose van Staden with love

On Saturday, 11 May 2019, between 2.00pm and 4.00pm, friends of Rose van Staden are invited to a Celebration of Life and Memorial Service for Rose van Staden. Join friends of Rose at The Barn, Knoll Historic Guest House in Hilton to remember our beautiful Rose who sadly passed away last weekend.

Rose van Staden of Tisra til, Azalea Lane, Hilton passed away on the 3rd of May 2019.

What a beautiful soul she was, to all who knew her. She was so special. I'll never forget her loving heart, her beautiful eyes. We were sister jis...her and I. I called her my sweet gypsy Rose. Her home was filled to the brim with her paintings, books, pottery, smiles, and laughter. The spinning wheel at the fireplace...I can still picture her at it. I loved going there. I'd say your home puts its arms around me Rose. She would always punctuate what she was saying with little poems and songs. I loved that. She used to call me June born in April and used to sing "Little April Lady” to me. That was how she was. Magical....she sang it to me the 2nd last time I saw her when we had a quiet moment in her room. It was as special a time as one could want. Sigh.

When I went to say goodbye, she wished us great happiness in England and said, “Junie, do you think we'll ever laugh together again?” I took her hands in mine and said "of course we will"...as it seemed so important just then.

It was the same with all her friends and family. We all have beautiful stories of her ways. She was so treasured.

Many was the time I would go to her with my woes. She would look at me wisely and with loving eyes twinkling...would say..."Yes Junie but it's finished now.

And so, it is that her life with us all is finished now. And what she has left us with is love. I can see God smiling. That's all he asks of us.

And then a shimmering golden presence lifted her up. Up... and He took her home.
