In the lead up to World Ocean’s Day on 8 June, 26 girls from the St Anne’s Enviro Club recently volunteered to collect litter on the Durban South Beaches.
Beaches that appeared on arrival to look litter free, were anything but, as the girls proceeded to fill 7 large bags with litter including nearly 100 straws and plenty of toxic nurdles that are still polluting our oceans after the container spill more than 6 months ago.
