To mark World Wetland Day Grade 5 pupils at Laddsworth Primary School visited the neighbouring St Anne’s wetland where they observed wetland fauna and flora. They made good use of the bird hide from which they spotted red bishops, a hamerkop, swallows and mousebirds. They noted that the water in the wetland appeared clean, evidence for which was the presence of blue dragonflies and many other flying insects. These insects were being eaten by the swallows.
