My name is Erin Tracey and I am currently twenty-three years of age. In 2014 I opened up my own Irish Dancing school in Hilton KZN, Tracey Academy of Irish Dance. I had previously been dancing for many years having competed around the world. I was first trained in Irish Dance in Sydney, Australia. When I relocated back to Durban I was lucky enough to perform at many theatres such as the Playhouse and Elizabeth Sneddon. In 2012 I was selected as one of thirty Irish Dancers in SA to perform in the South African Highland Tattoo at Monte Casino in Gauteng. It was the most amazing experience of my life. I was able to dance in front of 3000 people for a week, every day and every night.I believe that Irish Dance is one of the world’s most unique forms of dance. It was first made famous by Michael Flatley who created Riverdance and Lord of the Dance in 1994. Irish Dance showcases precision, elegance, power and strength. It teaches co-ordination, excellent posture, discipline, confidence and creates ambition for each dancer. As a teacher I strive to bring out the best in each dancer and believe that every dancer has the potential to succeed.
