Four Laddsworth Primary School pupils were awarded medals in the KZN Regional Championship of Abagility Maths held on Saturday, 12 September in Kloof. 270 pupils participated across various levels. Abagility teaches addition, subtraction, multiplication and division based on Japanese abacus maths techniques. Two papers were written, one using an abacus and a second paper using “anzan’’ which is mental arithmetic.Jodi Moreno was awarded the Champion of Champions trophy. This is the second year running that Jodi has received this award. She has also been chosen to represent KZN in the Nationals Championship to be held in Gauteng in October. Reuben MacFarlane and Matthew Bishop were awarded Gold medals and Thomas Street won a Bronze Medal.
