It was a bit disappointing that we had only ten rinks instead of the usual twelve for the IF Trips last Friday. Please remember that this event takes place on the first Friday of each month and we count on our regular supporters to turn up. Kindly advise Dave Garrard on 033 343 4246 if you cannot play.
Winners on Friday were Jack Allen, Dave Hammond and Andy Hitchcock. In second place were Jean and John Pluke and their trusty lead, John Bayley. We express our very sincere thanks to Investment Facilitators for their welcome and on-going sponsorship.
The first of our main club trophy tournaments, the Charles Prickett Cup was contested on Saturday morning. Jean Pluke, Dave Hammond and Pat Bennet were victorious with Dave and Margie Garrard and Mike Guest in second place. Third place was filled by Tom Hartley, Angus Snowden and Jean Tosen. The Quarry SuperSpar not only donated very generous vouchers and wine for the winners but also provided lunch for almost forty people. It is difficult to thank Spar adequately for their wonderful support for our club.
About ten of our members travelled to Umgeni club on Sunday to enjoy a day of fun and camaraderie with bowlers from the UK.
