Photographer Alan Jackman took a drive at his leisure and ended up at The Quarry Centre. A beautiful venue we may often take for granted. But one that is wholly worthwhile pausing to ponder in varying lights and at different times of the year as the seasons take effect.
Alan was kind enough to share his photographs with us and said, "I reside in Camperdown and while out for a drive thought I'd visit the Hilton area for the day. I was breath taken when I arrived at the Quarry, its beauty was totally unexpected. I popped into a coffee shop and admired the view over a hot cuppa as it was chilly that morning.
I was blessed to have my Nikon D3200 camera with me so I could capture some memorable shots of the Quarry. A view like that could not be missed and I just had to share them with family and friends. I am sure half of whom didn't even know the Hilton Quarry exists!
I love nature and landscape photography and the Quarry covered it all. I got close-ups and wide views, rocks, water, bird life, etc. it was like being in a totally different place.'
