A mounted patrol project started in Winterskloof Hilton last Monday, pictured here is Steve riding BeeGee. Together they will be patrolling the streets of Winterskloof on a daily basis adding an extra pair of eyes to crime prevention in our community.
Clear advantages of a mounted patrol compared to foot or bicycle patrol are that a horse covers much more ground in a shorter time especially in a community like Winterskloof!
From horseback the guard can see over most fences or walls and into bushes, and a mounted patrol is a much more impressive picture and less vulnerable then foot patrols.
'Residents in Winterskloof with horses are encouraged to join the patrol for an easy long outride like my daughter and I did on Friday morning.' said Christel Klein.
