Hilton welcomes Dawn Fallet who has moved here from Johannesburg along with her flower business, Floral Creations Boutique Florist. Dawn has been in the flower world for many years. Her love of flowers began in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe where she first tried my hand at flower arranging. She started basic flower arranging with a group of friends. Her first arrangement - the basic Vertical line - required some fixing up but she went home happy with her arrangement and the illusion that she'd done it herself!
Dawn then joined the Bulawayo Evening Flower Club. With design in hand for her first competition she began a career that has lasted more than 30 years!!! Her next club was The Johannesburg Floral Art Club. She has been in this club for the last twenty years and in that time she have been Chairlady and completed her Teachers, Judges and Demonstrators exams. The club is part of the Gauteng Floral Union (which is a member of the South African Floral Union and World Association of Flower Arrangers).
Dawn has entered competitions at Club, Provincial, National and International level. She has also entered four World Flower Shows - Toronto, Wellington, Durban and Glasgow. Winning the prize for the 'Best Use of Colour' in Toronto was a great thrill for Dawn.
For the last fifteen years Dawn has run Floral Creations - a successful floral business providing flowers for functions: weddings, birthdays, funerals, and corporates.
Dawn finds it very rewarding to share her knowledge and experience with individuals and groups and - more recently - through the internet I am able to reach 1000's more people. Look at my flower training videos on YouTube and be inspired to do your own.
