With 25 to 30 people turning out on each of our usual bowling days, but no formal competitions we had a quiet week. Play on Saturday was curtailed when a steady drizzle settled in after about 14 ends.
This Friday we will be playing the IF Sponsored Trips competition. Play starts as close to 08:30 as possible. On Saturday we will be trying a fun format incorporating different variations on bowls. Basic techniques of the game will still be essential but the idea is to involve all players more closely with the planning and strategy on each end. Do make an effort to attend and share the excitement.
Club championships are about to begin. The first of these will be the nominated pairs competitions starting on 17th April. Check the notice board and enter a team. The Competition Secretaries will be controlling these tournaments strictly and cut-off dates will be enforced.
