"Actress the musical" at Hilton Arts Festival

"Actress", a one-and-a-half-person musical-comedy-drama, spans a period of ten or so years. It is the story of a woman who is trying to define and succeed in different roles – actress, wife, mother, general human being – while trying to juggle all the complexities of each of those roles (often simultaneously). The action is enhanced by original songs created for the project, designed to help expand the mood, dynamics and emotion of the piece. Talia Kodesh won the 2023 Best Lead Actress in a Musical Naledi Award for the title role, and the piece won the "Best New Play or Musical" in the 2023 Broadway World South Africa Awards.
