The Story of "Our" Quilt by Curves Hilton

Written by  Curves Hilton
It all began with a fantastically extravagant idea of a CURVES Hilton member, Hayley, and transformed itself into just so many things in just two short days.

Thursday morning, 8am Hayley arrived armed with huge tables, sewing machines and all things quilt making required and set them up in the corner of Curves. A wonderful variety of fabrics to choose from were available for us to use and under Hayley's expert and incredibly patient supervision, we did just that.

All the members of Curves Hilton that could spare any time, at the time, got involved. Some traced, some cut, some ironed, some UNPICKED...... some where there for 20 minutes, some where there for hours and slowly "our" quilt began to emerge as every little bit of effort made by everyone began to develop into something marvellous.

Woven into the fabric of what you see here are also the gifts that the members brought in the form of their time, effort, love, sense of humour, courage, thoughts of others and so much more that has resulted in a community of women , producing something together, for the good of others we don't even know.

Thank you to each and every one of you that helped in any way, words of encouragement included.HiltonBakery_0038

Special thanks to Susan Carlitz, not even a Curves member, who helped sew bits together on Thursday and did the actual quilting as her part of this gift.

Special thanks to Hayley Martin for her time, her expertise, her generous supplying of all the material, the putting together and especially for having the idea, doing something about it and leading us the whole way through.

BLESS YOU ALL

Alex, Denise, Debbie and Merle
